A strong group of Super Falcons internationals will represent their respective clubs in the 2026/27 UEFA Women’s Champions League, giving Nigeria a notable presence in Europe’s premier women’s club competition.
From France to Italy, Sweden and Portugal, Nigerian internationals will be involved as their clubs compete against some of the leading teams in European women’s football.

In Italy, Super Falcons midfielder Toni Payne will be in action for Inter Milan.

French side Paris Saint-Germain Féminine will have two Super Falcons players in their squad, with captain Rasheedat Ajibade and midfielder Jennifer Echegini set to feature for the club as they look to make impact at one of Europe’s established clubs.

AS Roma will also have a Nigerian presence through Shukurat Oladipo and Rinsola Babajide. Both Super Falcons internationals will have the opportunity to test themselves against some of the continent’s strongest opposition as Roma begin their European campaign.

Swedish club BK Häcken will feature two Nigerian internationals, with midfielder Halimatu Ayinde and forward Joy Omewa included among the club’s options for the competition.

Meanwhile, Portuguese champions SL Benfica boast the largest Nigerian contingent among the listed clubs. Demehin Oluwatosin, Flourish Sebastine and also Janet Akekoromowei who also participated in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup for the Nigeria Falconets will represent Benfica as the Portuguese side competes on the European stage.

The Champions League provides another platform for these Nigerian players to gain experience against high-level opposition while representing both their clubs and the Super Falcons on the European stage.

With the Nigerian internationals spread across several clubs, the 2026/27 UEFA Women’s Champions League offers another opportunity to follow the performances of Super Falcons players as they compete in one of the biggest competitions in women’s club football.
