The Super Falcons Midfielder Ngozi Sonia Okobi-Okeoghene delivered a standout performance for Ottawa Rapid FC, scoring twice for her club Ottawa Rapid FC as they secured a 3-1 victory over Calgary Wild FC in the Northern Super League.

The Nigerian international made her first start of the season and immediately made an impact, opening the scoring in just the fourth minute. Florence Belzile delivered a cross into the box, with Johanne Fridlund helping the ball into Okobi-Okeoghene’s path before the Nigerian International finished the move to score her first goal in the Northern Super League.

However, Ottawa quickly restored their two-goal advantage. Just one minute after Calgary’s goal, Okobi-Okeoghene found the back of the net again, receiving a pass from Keera Melenhorst before firing a powerful effort from outside the box beyond the Calgary goalkeeper.

The 78th-minute strike completed Okobi-Okeoghene’s brace and sealed a memorable night for the Nigerian forward. It was her first brace in the Northern Super League and her first two goals of the season.

The 3-1 victory also ended Ottawa Rapid FC’s five-game losing run. The result moved Rapid FC to 36 points and back into second position in the Northern Super League, three points behind league leaders Montreal Roses with four matches remaining.

For Okobi-Okeoghene, the performance provides another important moment in her return to top-level football in Canada, with the Super Falcons midfielder continuing to make her presence felt for Ottawa Rapid FC.
