mAhead of their final Group B clash with defending champions Korea DPR at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, Nigeria U-17 head coach Hakeem Busari has promised an aggressive display from the Nigeria Flamingos.

Busari acknowledged the strength of the Asian side, who have scored 12 goals and conceded just one in their opening two matches, but insisted that Nigeria would not simply sit back defensively.

The Coach explained that the Flamingos would focus on maintaining a compact shape, limiting Korea DPR’s attacking opportunities and taking the initiative whenever possible.

“We will try to slow them down and play more men behind the ball, but we do not sit back,” Busari said.

Busari noted that an aggressive mindset, tactical discipline and effective ball retention will be vital against the four-time world champions.

He also stressed the need to pin Korea DPR in their own half and convert chances, adding that both teams deserve respect despite the Koreans’ status as the defending champions.

The Flamingos head into the encounter following a 2–0 victory over Puerto Rico, having lost 2–1 to Poland in their opening match.

The Flamingos must get a result against Korea DPR to keep their Round of 16 hopes alive, aiming to build on their last performance and stay in contention at the World Cup.
