Ashleigh Plumptre Embarks On Goodwill Visit To Bangladesh With Al-Ittihad.

The Super Falcons Defender Ashleigh Plumptre after fully recovering from injury and returning to action, once again makes an impact not only on the football pitch, but also through her commitment to empowering young people and giving back to communities.

Plumptre recently travelled to Bangladesh alongside Abdul Giash through Spice Bazzar for a two-day goodwill visit, organized by the Spice Bazzar Foundation in collaboration with Ashleigh Plumptre and her international club, Al-Ittihad Ladies Club.

They visited for a beneficial and positive support to encourage sports, empower women and girls, and support local communities.

During the visit, Plumptre spent time in Dhaka with players representing the Bangladesh Women’s National Team, as well as young women involved in sports such as judo, chess, badminton and cricket.

She also attended a dinner where she had the opportunity to connect with these inspiring young athletes and hear about their experiences.

In Sylhet, she received a warm welcome through cultural performances and met an incredible group of young people serving their communities as athletes, healthcare workers and volunteers.

Speaking about the experience, Plumptre said:

“In Dhaka, we met with some of the players representing the Bangladesh Women’s National Team and held a dinner where I got to engage with young girls representing their country in sports, including judo, chess, badminton and cricket, to name a few.”

She added:

“In Sylhet, I was warmly welcomed by cultural performances and an incredible group of young people who serve their communities as sports people, healthcare workers and volunteers.”

Reflecting on the importance of cultural exchange and connection, Plumptre said:

“What we are able to learn from one another through conversation, an openness to listen, and an intrigue in culture has the power to bring us together in more ways than we know.”

She also described it as an honour to visit a place where women are breaking barriers and creating opportunities for the next generation.

“It was an honour to be invited to a place where women are paving the way for the next generation of young women into fields that they once never represented.”
“Thank you, Bangladesh.”

The Super Falcons Defender Plumptre continues to show that her influence extends far beyond football.

Now fully back on the pitch and contributing once again for club and country, she is also using her platform to inspire young people, empower women and girls, and create a positive impact in communities around the world.

Back on the pitch. Making a difference off it. Ashleigh Plumptre continues to lead by example.
