Super Falcons Defender Ashley Plumptre has been warmly welcomed back to Al-Ittihad Ladies FC after completing a lengthy rehabilitation period following a foot injury that required surgery earlier this year.

Plumptre underwent successful foot surgery in late March 2026 to address a persistent injury.

She subsequently began her rehabilitation in the United Kingdom before returning to Saudi Arabia to continue her recovery with Al-Ittihad.

After months away from competitive action, the defender has now officially returned to training with her club as she works towards regaining her full match fitness and sharpness.

Her injury forced her to miss the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where the Super Falcons eventually exited at the quarterfinal stage.

Plumptre’s return comes as positive news for both Al-Ittihad and the Nigerian national team, with the experienced defender now focused on rebuilding her fitness and getting back to competitive football.

Having completed a challenging period of recovery, Plumptre is ready to begin another chapter with Al-Ittihad Ladies and gradually work her way back to her best.
