Super Falcons duo Ashleigh Plumptre and Francisca Ordega have been nominated for the Saudi Women’s Premier League Player of the Month award following a series of standout performances for Al Ittihad Ladies.

During the period under review, Al Ittihad secured two wins and suffered one narrow defeat in three matches, scoring an impressive 13 goals and conceding just twice. They cruised to a 3-0 victory over Al-Amal, endured a hard-fought 2-1 loss to league leaders Al-Nassr, who extended their unbeaten run to 16 games, and bounced back in emphatic style with a 9-0 demolition of Al-Taraji. These results lifted Al Ittihad to seventh on the league table with just two games left in the season.

Plumptre was outstanding at the back, while also making key contributions going forward. She scored the third goal in the win over Al-Amal, and was instrumental in the 9-0 rout of Al-Taraji, opening the scoring and providing three assists in a commanding display.

Ordega also impressed with her dynamic play and attacking presence throughout the month, reinforcing her value to the team’s resurgent form.
The Nigerian pair will battle for the award against Al-Ahli’s Naomie Kabakaba, who was equally sensational, netting five goals in three games. Her contributions helped push Al-Ahli to second place in the standings with 37 points.
