Super Falcons midfielder Deborah Abiodun has taken a significant step in her career, signing a three-year contract with Washington Spirit, one of the top teams in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in the United States. The move solidifies her status as one of Nigeria’s brightest football talents and a rising star on the global stage.
Abiodun’s journey to international acclaim began with her standout performances at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in 2022. Her ability to command the midfield, deliver pinpoint passes, and dictate the tempo of games earned her widespread recognition. These displays quickly caught the attention of scouts worldwide, culminating in her debut with Nigeria’s senior national team, the Super Falcons.
