Nigeria’s U-20 Women’s National Team, the Falconets, are set for a crucial FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying clash as their opponents, Senegal’s U-20 girls, the Lionesses de Téranga, have arrived in Abeokuta, Ogun State, ahead of Saturday’s third-round, first-leg encounter.

The Senegalese delegation touched down in Lagos on Tuesday night and proceeded by road to Abeokuta, where the team is scheduled to hold its first training session on Wednesday evening as final preparations begin for the high-stakes fixture.
Saturday’s encounter marks the first leg of the penultimate round of the African qualifiers, with the aggregate winner set to face either Guinea-Bissau or Malawi for a place at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup finals in Poland later this year.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed match officials from Uganda and Burundi to oversee the encounter. Uganda’s Diana Murungi will serve as the referee, assisted by compatriots Immaculate Ongiera and Elizabeth Nassolo, while Burundi’s Suavis Iratunga will act as the fourth official.

Ghana’s Christine Ziga has been named match commissioner, with Gabonese official Berthe Minka assigned as referee assessor.
With both teams now in camp, anticipation continues to build ahead of what promises to be a fiercely contested West African showdown in Abeokuta.
