Regina Otu Cherishes ‘Special’ Moment As St. Ettienne Wins French D2 Championship Title.

Super Falcons Midfielder, Regina Otu has described her first career title as special and rewarding.

The former Edo Queens Midfielder was key to St Ettienne getting promotion to the D1 Arkema with some solid display from the midfield, one that has gotten unnoticed by the fans of the French side.

Alongside fellow compatriots Esther Okoronkwo and Yewande Balogun, the trio helped St. Ettienne top Group B of the French Women Football League Division 2, winning 18 games, losing just 2 and drawing 2, out of the 22 games played.

“My first career cup, we are French Division 2 Champions, to God be the glory.” Otu said.

“The promotion of St. Ettienne Femenine to the D1 Arkema is a testament to their hard work and determination. The team has been working tirelessly to achieve this feat, and their success is well-deserved. The club’s management and coaching staff have done an excellent job in building a team that is competitive and capable of playing at the highest level.” One of the fans said on their social media handle.

The team is expected to fight for honours, when they compete in the French Women Football elite league next season.
