Super Falcons attacker Uchenna Kanu played a crucial role in the final 10 minutes of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) match day 10 encounter between Racing Louisville FC and Kansas City Current, which ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw

Racing Louisville FC started strong, with Emma Sears scoring the opening goal in the 18th minute, assisted by Lauren Milliet. Kansas City Current equalized just before halftime through Lo’eau LaBonta. The home side then took the lead in the 56th minute with a goal from Michelle Cooper, set up by Debinha.
The game took another twist in the 68th minute when Kansas City Current’s Stine Ballisager scored an own goal, leveling the score at 2-2.
Uchenna Kanu entered the fray in the 80th minute, replacing Elexa Bahr and adding attacking impetus to Racing Louisville. However, it was Kansas City Current who seemed to have clinched the victory in the 90th minute when Gabrielle Robinson scored following a corner kick by Temwa Chawinga.
Kanu’s introduction almost paid off in added time when she set up Reilyn Turner, whose shot was saved.
Just when it seemed defeat was inevitable, Racing Louisville snatched a dramatic equalizer in the 13th minute of added time. Savannah DeMelo converted a fine pass from Abby Erceg, securing a hard-fought point for the visitors.
Despite the late heroics, the draw leaves Kanu and Racing Louisville in 10th position in the NWSL standings. They’ll be looking to bounce back and secure a win when they take on Chicago Red Stars in their next match.
