History Maker! How Asisat Oshoala Scored Bay FC First Ever NWSL Goal.

Nigerian superstar Asisat Oshoala wasted no time making her mark on the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) as she helped Bay FC secure a crucial away win over Angel City FC in their season opener.

The prolific striker, fresh off her transfer from Barcelona Femenino, made a dream debut for her new club. Just 17 minutes into the match, Oshoala displayed her clinical finishing with a powerful right-footed shot that found the top right corner of the net, assisted by Tess Boade. Her goal proved to be the game-winner, propelling Bay FC to a winning start to their season.

Despite conceding early, Angel City FC pushed back relentlessly, searching for an equalizer. However, Bay FC’s resolute defense, coupled with some impressive saves from their goalkeeper, kept the home side at bay.

Oshoala wasn’t done yet. In the 75th minute, the former FC Robo attacker showed her creativity by providing a beautifully crafted assist to Joelle Anderson, although the chance went begging. A brief injury scare in added time momentarily halted play for Oshoala, but she showed resilience to finishing my last time the match.

With this hard-fought victory, Oshoala and her Bay FC teammates now occupy the 4th position on the NWSL table, signaling a promising start to the season. As they aim to sustain their momentum in the upcoming matches, the Super Falcons’ star striker will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in Bay FC’s quest for success in the NWSL.
