In a major boost for women’s football on the continent, the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) will unveil a brand-new trophy for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) ahead of this weekend’s tournament kick-off.
The unveiling is scheduled for Wednesday, 2 July 2025, in Morocco, the host nation for this year’s highly-anticipated event. This initiative forms part of CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe’s vision to further elevate and grow women’s football in Africa.
The new trophy will be revealed digitally on CAF’s official platforms in the afternoon, followed by an activation event in partnership with title sponsors TotalEnergies later that evening.
The TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2024 officially kicks off on Saturday, 5 July 2025, at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, where hosts Morocco will face Zambia in the opening match at 21:00 local time (20:00 GMT / 23:00 Cairo / 22:00 Lusaka).
Details and images of the new trophy design will be shared on the day of its unveiling, marking a symbolic and historic moment for the women’s game in Africa.
