Super Falcons defender Oluwatosin Demehin has assured Nigerians that the team is fully prepared to fight from the first whistle until the end as they face South Africa in the crucial World Cup playoff.
Demehin acknowledged South Africa as a strong and quality side, saying the Super Falcons respect their opponents but remain confident in their own preparation.
“We know South Africa are a tough and good team, and we respect them, but we are confident in our preparation. We are ready to fight until the end,” she said.
The defender also dismissed any feeling of pressure within the squad, stressing that the main focus is on securing victory and keeping Nigeria’s 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup dream alive.
According to Demehin, the disappointment of the WAFCON quarterfinal defeat to Cameroon has been put behind the team. She said the players have learned from the experience and are now concentrating fully on the challenge ahead.
“What happened at WAFCON was really disappointing, but we have moved past it. We have learnt from it, and now we are focused on what we have ahead of us,” she added.
The Wolrld Cup qualification is now the priority, Demehin believes the Super Falcons are ready to give everything on the pitch and fight until the final whistle.
