Monday Gift’s heroics took centre stage as she scored a remarkable brace, sealing a thrilling triumph for Tenerife against Atletico De Madrid’s women’s team, which also boasts the presence of another Super Falcons player Rashedat Ajibade, in their ranks.

In an exclusive interview with superfalconsshow.com , Gift stated;
“Scoring two goals against Atlético de Madrid, I feel really happy, and I’m grateful to God for the opportunity. I am so happy that I was able to convert the chances.”

On her experience in the Spanish women’s football league, the former FC Robo player was proud of her form and professionalism since she arrived Spain.

When asked, if she had the opportunity to connect with her Super Falcons teammate, Rasheedat Ajibade, who plays for Atletico Madrid, Monday Gift disclosed, “Actually, after the game against Athletico De Madrid, I wasn’t able to talk to Rash (Rasheedat Ajibade). There was no time for that. We were having a meeting in our dressing room, so we weren’t able to reach out to each other.”

The Nigerian international striker and highest goal scorer in the Nigerian Women Football League Season 2022 , was on fire as she singlehandedly led her team, Tenerife UDG, to silence Atlético de Madrid with her superbly netted second-half brace on Sunday.

Gift left Atletico stunned with a double within two minutes, securing a 2-1 victory for Tenerife against Atlético de Madrid.

It was a historic moment for Tenerife as they celebrated their first-ever victory over the colchoneras in a vibrant and exciting duel, which was decided by the two outstanding goals from the Nigerian sensation in front of an electrifying crowd at Adeje municipal hall.
